ACEO: What’s Going on in the Art World?

The art world is continuing to create simple and effective ways to have artist’s artwork more accessible to the public. I remember having a conversation with someone about creating small artwork to share with others or have it affordable for anyone to purchase.

You may wander what “ACEO” means? It stands for: Art Cards, Editions, and Originals. They are referred to collectible miniature art pieces, typically size measurements of 3.5 inch by 2.5 inch. These are mini art cards made in various mediums and can be sold online or in person as affordable originals or prints.

Key characteristics for a ACEO art card to be known as a ACEO collectables are:

the size is strictly 3.5 inch by 2.5 inch, the content is any 2D (two dimensional) art in any medium (oil, watercolor, mixed media, digital, acrylic, etc.), and the purpose should always be affordable to purchase.

That is why in the near future I will create an ACEO event for all local artists to come together to trade, sell, or give away their ACEO art cards. Now! That sounds like a fun time for me!

ACEO art card is becoming to be known worldwide, especially in the art industry. Many artists have their own reasons to why they are evolving in the ACEO creations; I know for me, I jumped on this wagon not too long ago, like late December 2025. I’m trying to remember how I got to this trend or opportunity to not just continue to create my own artwork, also to make my artwork more accessible and affordable. I have also started my own collector’s portfolio and have supported 7 artists in the USA so far. The fun fact about supporting other artists and their ACEO collections is, you may never know who will get famous. I see it as an investment. I preferred originals because it’s more organic and authentic for me. So, I will keep my own ACEO originals and not digitals or prints. Handmade artwork is the best when it comes to knowing how the artist creates and displays their beautiful work.

The main reason for me as a professional artist is to be part of the ACEO community and as collective society in the art world is to evolve. To learn and continue to create my own signature of artistic styles. Also, because why not! As a business owned and operated Founder of Is.Fifty3 co. & Art by Soso-Akalesh, I love to learn new ways or ideas to expand, even in a small size card.

Thank you for reading this NEWSLETTER in a winter season! =)
